Lane - That photo was calling out for my treatment. Took it during a trip to NY last year.
Absolute Vanilla - We can almost imagine that they do play these kinds of games, no? Especially savvy New York pigeons! lol
Great pic man, makes me wonder where the camera was. or maybe they were very brave birds who didn't mind getting photographed at close angles!

Nothingman - Aha, the secrets of my trade. In fact we were quite close to the pigeons, on an obvseration deck. :-)

I like it. Had a couple of years in a small London rag aeons ago and picked up photo tips from the ed....
Julie - Thanks! I do wonder how many points these pigeons have collected over the years. In fact, what is their lifespan? Are we talking points over five years? Ten? 50?
Ha Ha great seamus. They like cars too especially mine. Maybe bacause there are not so many dogs and people here as in that place.

Life span (pigeon)
'They average 3-5 years in the wild. Captive pigeons can live for 15 years but some have been known to live for up to 35 years.'
Did two minutes (er) flying research and was staggered how many varieties there are...(wikip).
Once strayed into the area of pest control websites for these things. Very series business - the boat bird clackers are a laugh though...adds a whole new meaning to poop deck....

Eeee Lad - I remember the local pigeon fancying fraternity up North when I was a kid. My uncle had a coop for 'is fantails a few years ago but a stoat nobbled the beggars... they go for the jugular, of course.... (:

Julie - Thanks for the tips ... I will definitely check them out. We used to have cages and cages of rabbitsin our back yard! lol It began with me just asking my father if he could buy me just ONE for a present.
Ok lurker delurking to say I love this picture! It reminds me of Gary Larson's Far Side cartoon with a pidgeon over a man washing his car and the pigeon is thinking "You are mine, all mine!" And the one he does where with the bird's eye view of the world where all the people have bullseyes on their heads! Hee hee.

I look forward to checking out yours! I'm glad you liked the photo ... it was fun putting it together ... even if children and dogs do come out badly. lol
Yes, I love Sarah and Wayne's blogs also. I've lurked here at your blog ever since Vesper gave me an award which shocked the heck out of me and gratified me to no end. But I have felt too lowly to pass it on. I mean who am I to pass on an award that I feel like I didn't really deserve! (Not that I would ever give it back, mind you!) Seriously, all these great writing blogs are amazing and a wonderful place to learn more about the craft.
And my sister-in-law is a Kiwi also! Making my beloved nephew and niece half-Kiwi's and one of these days I am actually going to get myself all the way over there (but I will need alot of drugs to help me with that flight!).
