A Pause For A Poem
where are you taking me, lowly members?
awkward and fickle pegs on which I rely,
you could deviate, magic away the risks,
but no, jealously bent on curious paths,
those that our forebears left wide open
advancing casually on the sinking ground,
as if bold hearts were hidden within you,
logic and stamina your stolen compasses,
ignoring my crown’s most urgent appeals,
so far removed from the warmth of reason
when our final journey comes to its end,
down upon you my heavy tears will plunge,
no immunity from the ballad of grieving,
the truth will be plainer than you think,
they will all know that I was easily led

Your poems make me wish I could write them too. Easily led is lovely. I also love da shoes! Is this random photo or do these beauties belong to you?
AND have you noticed that I have tagged you? Scarlett thinks that a hoot.
Yeah. Like that. Like that verrry much.
LMN;
You are too kind. Yep, these photos are mine ... and these are posh shoes that I bought for a London wedding last year. I will get on to the tag thing today or tomrorow ... the lions are hungry! :)
CB,
Thanks. Glad you like it. Look where those fet have led me! :)
I share I.M.s wish that I could write poetry. I should have asked you earlier, but is it alright for me to post the History of The Lions from your blog onto my sidebar? katcampbell.wordpress.com
Hi Kat,
Poetry is so personal. I think any expression that fits the form of a poem is a goer. Also, yes, please, do make use of the history of the lions. You are very welcome. :)
I love reading people's poetry, but I'm never sure of what to say. Some people seem to be looking for an emotional reaction, others want constructive criticism, and still others want just any response at all. Do you have any specific type of feedback that you want for your poetry? Since I'm planning to keep reading you!
Hi Dewey,
Yes, this is a tricky one for bloggers. I just want people to feel free to react if they want to, however they want to. As long as it's not totally offensive. :) I am quite thick skinned and do appreciate honest feedback.
Great poem, I like the way it goes more melancholy at the end a bit yet still uplifting...is there a little pit of tongue in cheek (or even shoe) too! I love the feet too. AS someone with shocking bunions I admire a nice pair of feet, and shoes of course being a girl... this is turning into a shameless foot fetish webiste ( a new off shoot for you?)Cate
Dewey, I commented to John, at 'Wordcarving' a while back that I often found his poetry difficult to comment on. Good poetry often elicits a sort of happy grunt which is quite hard to write down!
And to you Shameless - ermffh!
Cate,
Oh yes, foot fetish. Now there's something to encourage. :) I'm glad you liked it.
Minx,
I will take that as a congratulatory pat on the back that causes me to fall forward and make an ermffh sound! :)
