I had some short stories, poems and photographs to share ... and so here I am

A Pause For A Poem

I'm off to Paris this weekend to see a few old friends, including my journalist chum Laurence - a perfect time to share with you another one of his poems!

Dolphin

I am as a dolphin born
Into a concrete pool,
Who has known nothing better,
Yet pines for open sea

Perhaps a seabird's feather
Once landed on my pool,
And instinct knew the odour
Of the place where I should be

By Laurence Frost.

By the way, the picture of the dolphins is not mine; it comes from a website that offers free screensavers! www.3d-screensaver-downloads.com

Hi Seamus,
Another chilling encounter!
Remember you had mentioned the phrase Killing Me Softly With His Blog...which I had joked about earlier and you said you had been thinking of placing that line on your blog around the same time before you read my comment and of
course, I knew nothing of this...
well, last night, I drafted a poem on having called myself a fish but the images were attributed to pools..though I blended this in with pools in the eyes (of the romantic). I thought I would post it up today.

Yours by Laurence Frost, is a poem too...on the dolphin & pools! How uncanny, you agree? And in the same time frame once more.

But no doubt, Dolphin stays a class act for a poem as always.
I wish you a gorgeous weekend in Paris with your sins! cheers :-)

Wow, Susan, the world is indeed a strange place. I look forward to popping over to read your poem. I've arrived in Paris, where it's raining an it's cold!

Raining and cold? Must be April in Paris! (I got that from one of Paris Parfait's posts.) ... Enjoy anyway. Love the dolphin poem - very striking images.

Lovely, poignant poem.

Enjoy Paris. Make mine a pain au chocolat with a chocolat chaud, s'il vous plait - as only the French can do.

CB,
Yes, April in Paris was often rainy and cold when I lived here ... it adds some charm I suppose! :) It's nice checking out all my old haunts!

Atyllah,
Done. Petit dej on the way! :)
I will make sure Laurence gets the feedback on his poem! :)

one of my favourite films is funny face starring fred astare and audrey hepburn. I probably reference the film in some way at least every five years or so in my artwork. For example 'think pink' which i used as part of a soundtrack in a performance piece. Films like that helped to build a magical paris. so wander its dark streets, listen to snatches of piaf, eat and drink for me and maybe, just maybe a little bit will reach me.
