Crazy Kiwis !
I thought it was about time I showed you some more art! This is not mine; it's my better half 's painting, produced during a year we spent in New Zealand from 2002-2003. I just love the colours and forms here. Can you see why it's called Crazy Kiwis? (Don't forget you can click on the photo to enlarge it!)

Hi Shameless,
Loved it straightaway. My first thought was it's gorgeous.
I don't find the idea crazy. My takeaway impression would be bewitching, enchanting, alluring.
It's the sharp splash of blue that does it for me. It suggests unpredictability, spontaneity, an extraordinary moment...
To add on a postscript, I couldn't identify with the title as I didn't find the design misplaced but that the painting's spontaneity was studied and well-managed.
Thankfully, art stays individualistic & different to all. :-)
Yes - I can definitely spot at least two kiwis in that wonderful colourful painting.
Susan,
I will pass on your nice comments to mon cheri. :)I was glad we were able to bring this one back with us, even though it caused many headaches during the trip!
ChiefBiscuit,
Ah, yes, I would've been surprised if you hadn't spotted them. Atyllah should find things easy as well, hopefully! The colours really work in softening all of my Kiwi craziness!
The colors are amazing with an incredible sense of play -- the forms are clearly there but there is a sense of abandonment as well!! Really, really lovely.
Gorgeous.
I think your blog's looking lovely BTW, some brilliant pics on here.
This is really beautiful, I love the big strokes in the dark base colour and then the free mixture of the bright colours. Cool.
GoodThomas, Julia and V, I will pass all of your comments on; they will be lapped up! :) You've captured in nutshells what I think about this painting. It also comes from a really important time in our relationship: going back to see MY roots!
Wow, the green shape looks amazingly like the bird!
That is stunning! Vibrant and fun. You and yours produce, between you, some really great art.
Jason,
Well spotted. Green and yellow kiwis ... and a chicken having fun above?
Atyllah,
Did you spot the chicken? I hope so! :) I will pass on your kind word!
Another thing we have in common we both live with artists. yes, i believe I can see the kiwis, a green one towards the bottom and a caligraphic one with a red breast on the right. The colours are wonderful.
And what a great thing to have in common LMN! :)
My best half is mostly big on theatre, and is an English teacher in a school.
We are currently collaborating on a play which has music and songs that I've written. It's on stage here in Lyon in just over a week. I will try to post some clips here on the blog later!
