The Path Not Chosen
Gosh, where did all those people come from?
I can't believe that in a quick eight weeks, I've already had 1026 visitors to this blog, and the numbers are growing fast. Talk about a readership! And oh the responsibility! People are coming back for regular peeps and I thank every one of you.
I will do my best to keep this blog updated, interesting and revealing. If you follow me, I will follow you. Who knows, you may just be party to the blog of someone who will be incredibly famous one day! You saw the poems and extracts here first! That's why I'm called Shameless.
Let me know what you like and what you don't like! I am open to the pressures of the market - I don't have ratings to keep me comfortable.
Shall I continue with the lions? If 30 people say "yes, we love them", they will continue to make their regular appearances. I know that I could just write and be damned (as I said in an earlier post), but this is a blog, not a book.
If there are no comments to the contrary, I will continue on down the path that just happened to present itself, with no maps or signs to guide me.
I took the photo of this particular path in Queensland, Australia, in 2003.

So you're a writer, and artist, a blogger and obviously well traveled, why would you consult other people's opinions on that which is supposed to be yours? A blog is your writing, your ideas thoughts, concoctions; would you be so influenced by others? I may be young, not well traveled and inexperienced in my art and writing, but my ideas are my own, my desires entirely mine, and no one to thank but myself.
Hi crazymonkey,
You're right of course, but it is also nice to see the counter going up (nothing else goes up so fast and costs nothing) and to know that people come back to what they like to read. Don't worry, these blog pieces are not coming from the sensitive part of my "artistic" melting pot. The lions, for example, weren't created by me - too many of them may be too much for some, which I can understand, and it wouldn't injure my being to lose them.
My writing (novels) and my paintings do come from deep within and are probably not influenced by any market - I'm not even in that market to be influenced by it!
I hear what you're saying though, and I wish I could hear that from every agent and publisher I've ever come across.
I like the pictures on your blog by the way - not that you need to hear that or be influenced by it!
I like the lions! Vas y!
30 x yes!
Thanks!
nice lions!
