I had some short stories, poems and photographs to share ... and so here I am

A 9/11 Remembrance Poem

To mark the anniversary of the September 11 attacks in the US, and as a tribute to all of the victims and their families, I'd like to republish this memorial poem I wrote back in 2006: Will they just one day forget? I think it becomes more and more relevant as the years go by.

the same breathless questions
shooting out through the night
agony's very own untiring voice
fingerprints on endless websites
hit replay, hit replay, hit replay
2417 visits in three cold months

smoke, approaching, screaming,
explosion, screaming, falling
dust, panic, where is he today?
oh my God, oh sweet Jesus!
what did he say this morning?
where did he say he was going?

grainy pictures make a shrine
visitors stop their enquiries
no one answers the little boy
so what was it all for then?
who won what in the end?
is anyone else better off?

does anyone cry for my daddy?
did they know he'd be there?
why did he stay to help others?
way way up on the 92nd floor
will I ever get any answers?
will they just one day forget?

Briiiant Seamus, such a poignant poem. It captures the moment, and the peoples reaction to that moment. Beautifully done my friend, I love it though the sadness of the day lives on. Will they just one day forget? The perfect title. :)

ut this...oooh. It's gorgeous. Nice to hold. Shiny and clever. It feels lovely - very soft and smooth to the touch. I've only had a little fiddle around with it so far but I can feel myself getting sucked in to gadget-world. I can see why people go a bit bonkers over phones. I am never going to be one of those techie sorts who gets excited about mega-pixels and HDSPA ( I don't even know what these things mean I'm afraid) but I am swayed by aesthetics - ie as I was opening up my parcel, I thought, "Ooh, lovely packaging - nice boxes" (does that make me a bit sad??? or just a bit of a crap phone tester???).
The only thing I don't like is that it's called the Orbit II. To me, Orbit is chewing gum. Or maybe even a rocket. Or a new razor; I can almost imagine the macho Gillette voice-over now. But anyway. I will save my other phone-related stuff for this blog over here...

Although the film was a financial success, it received a mixed reaction from critics, and the original distributors refused to fund a sequel to cover the remainder of the story.

cancer fighting foodsOR tablesAttempting to know when the raids will come is futile. The only answer is to always be in a position to take advantage of them rather than be crushed by them. Their objective is to drain your funds so don't let it happen. Dont over commit. Have funds earmarked for raid opportunities. In the meantime trade as though there is no EE raid coming. They win when they have us always concerned about the possibility.
