I had some short stories, poems and photographs to share ... and so here I am

Featured Poem

Out of all my poems online, this is the one currently attracting the most hits as a result of referrals from search engines. It was written especially for identical twins.

there'll be two

two moons will manifest,
medallions in a purple sky,
so while one illuminates

a country lane, the other
guides a stray fisherman
back to familiar shores.

there’ll be two willows,
laughing in the breeze,
so while one protects

delicate baby finches,
the limbs of the other
become climbing ropes.

two flowers will rise,
burgeoning with colour,
so while one is plucked

to offer some comfort,
the other willingly
surrenders to bees.

there’ll be two rivers,
forging their own paths,
so while one might slow

down to broaden and
explore, the other gives
way to vital rapids.

(This year we became the godparents of the little delights above - Roman and Simon - and this is dedicated to them).

Lane, thank you so much for your comment! How nice that you came back to see this, even though I have fallen off the blogging train. I'm no longer blogging but I will still park my short stories, poems and photos here, hoping that they may have some kind of audience. Thanks again for your visit!

Wanderlust - Thank you! It's good to have people popping in, even if I'm not posting here often now. I will always put up the odd little bit of verse or story or photo. Your encouragement is really appreciated.

Barbara - Wow! Thanks. So thrilled to have you call by. Yes, no blogging but still putting up shameless bits and pieces. I could never take down this site now, and so will use it to park my creative bursts! Really nice to hear from you. :-) I'm still popping in to visit you and the others in our little circle, but I lurk and observe more than participate.

itunes gift cardelectronic cigaretteAll the buildings, paintings, and basically culture of the time look incredible in pictures, and probably even more amazing when you're actually there. The light post in the center of the street looks magnificent and probably even better when it is hand lit at night time. It's also good to know all these buildings that hold so much history are still up, and the style still seems impeccable despite it being built during the 14th century.

quail west real estateONCE SAVED ALWAYS SAVEDAttempting to know when the raids will come is futile. The only answer is to always be in a position to take advantage of them rather than be crushed by them. Their objective is to drain your funds so don't let it happen. Dont over commit. Have funds earmarked for raid opportunities. In the meantime trade as though there is no EE raid coming. They win when they have us always concerned about the possibility.

Though I am not on the trip, I feel I am learning so much looking at the pictures and reading the summary of each day and the comments posted. I see how this trip truly is a life changing experience. May the memories help all of you in the lives you live.

Hayes formed a new law partnership with Leopold Markbreit and returned to private practice.[38] After the Confederates had fired on Fort Sumter, Hayes resolved his doubts and joined a volunteer company composed of his Literary Society friends.[39] That June, Governor William Dennison appointed several of the officers of the volunteer company to positions in the 23rd Regiment of Ohio Volunteer Infantry. Hayes was promoted to major, and his friend and college classmate Stanley Matthews was appointed lieutenant colonel;[40] also joining the regiment as a private was another future president, William McKinley.

Thanks for the report - it's good to see conventions one has no hope of ever seeing in the flesh! Some very good modelling there too - I especially like the Normandy landing terrain.
