The Magic Of Ireland
I've finally got around to marrying up my photos of Ireland with one of my original piano compositions. I hope you like it. Click twice on the play button!

that was awesome. the music was so soothing i was playing it at work while i edited....
Oh, Seamus, you are so multi-talented! A writer, a composer, an artist with the camera. Now I want to visit Ireland, land of my ancestors (one branch of them, anyway). And I want to listen to your music all day long. I have copied the HTML stuff to embed this in my blog, but now I wonder which one. Maybe all of them, it's so good. No, I'll limit myself to Words from a Wordsmith. If I shouldn't be doing that, would you come tell me, please? I'll remove it, if I shouldn't be posting it there. But I love the music and the photos and the great job you did of combining the two. Thank you.
Simply gorgeous! You've made me nostalgic and homesick for a place I've never been. Or that I haven't been to yet.
I wish I could find better words to express just how much I love this. It's perfect.
Moonrat - Thank you. :-) I hope you didn't start editing in a few Irish phrases and words by mistake! lol
Bonnie - You are too kind. :-) Of course there is absolutely no problem "embedding" the video on your blog. I am honoured that you would want to. :-) I'm glad you liked it - I certainly enjoyed putting it together. It's a shame not to share the photos, which make me go all gooey! :-)
Bleeding Espresso - Thanks. :-) Yes, "places we haven't been to yet" is better. It's like, there are no strangers, just people we haven't met yet. :-)
Seamus, I'm back to tell you that I mentioned you on my blog today because You Make My Day:
http://bonniesbooks.blogspot.com/2008/01/oops-i-missed-bbs-anniversary.html
So good I played it twice.
The music is sublime with the photos.
Lovely!
I can't view these videos until we get back to the States because our service is as slow as dial-up.
But I'll still be back for your other stuff!!
:-)
Our paths have crossed, only in different times - I recognised so many of those beautiful scenes as places where I've trudged, sat and marvelled. Your pics filled with longing for the Emerald Isle - though not the weather! Beautifully done Seamus.
Now what I want to know is when are you going to try your hand at a Celtic tune for all your other piccies that I'm sure you must have! :-)
This was marvellous - never been to Ireland, but couldn't get over some of the resemblance to the Celtic areas of Scotland, Plockton; Lewis etc.
Had looked carefully at the photos previously - doesn't it bring them alive putting them in an evocative format with your music....
Fantastic. A multimedia experience. Thanks!
re name change; friends were googling a vjourney which was er,rather different...(: Too many vv's to pick!
Bonnie - I am blushing ... again. Thank you.
Lane - Twice? :-) Thank you. You'll be humming it next! lol :-)
Christine - Ah, the Church Lady is defrocked! Hello and welcome. What would we do without fast connections, eh? :-)
Absolute Vanilla - Thanks! The celtic tune will have to be on something other than the piano - the banjo? lol
Julie - Yes, it's so much better to present the pics like this. We bring out the DVDs to show visitors. It's an easier watch than trudging through albums of hundreds of pics. :-) The new name is great, by the way.
Billy - Thanks. I'm getting quite hooked on multimedia. And if my beloved piano gets a look in too, that's a bonus! :-) She's crying out for a good tuning, though. That's another call I must make tomorrow! :-)
That's the best way to visit Ireland, I'd say. I swear, I do all my traveling in books and through your blog. I've been physically unable to travel but my mind drifts all the time. Now I can say I've been to Ireland. Thanks for the ticket.
Jessica - It was a pleasure to be your guide. :-) And that was just a taster!
You should check out the Vivaldi flower film on my blog. It's great and I think you'd really like it.
Jessica - Yeah, I checked that out earlier today and loved it. The ending is powerful ... not what I expected. And it was for Sesame Street? Whew. Kids were so switched on then. :-) That union advert was also a HOOT! lol
Seamus you put on a wonderful show and I really enjoyed your music.
Being from England I am familier with some of your sites, but it's always refreshing to get another look from time to time.
Very nicely done. :)
Eric - Thank you. Your message just slipped in here as I was responding to another! :-) I'm glad you liked the presentation.
I'm glad you enjoyed it. That's such a great film--they didn't have that on Sesame Street when I was a kid.
That Union Ad is just the best. "We got broads in the street directing traffic so your kids don't get hit by some hard-on..."
My husband and others have visited Ireland and told me how beautiful it was. I can see why. Great pics.
They also told me of the musical abilities of the Irish. I can see why. You piano piece is wonderful.
You have so many talents plus such a nice man
Seamus, I am glad I came by to visit (via Bleeding Espresso). Your work is surprising and bright, you have a good eye. I will come back.
Jessica - I'm going to send that Union ad link on to some people who would just LOVE that humour! :-)
Marja - You are too kind! :-)
Beatriz - Hello and welcome! :-) Good to have you stop by. It's a bit of a mixed bag here most of the time. lol :-)
Yes. Do it.
That's beautiful music. I didn't know you composed music as well.
Jessica - There've been roars of laughter among some workmates today ... reminds us of The Sopranos!
Pearl - Thank you. :-) I just wish there was a lot more time to do all the things I love doing! Same goes for everyone, I suppose.
I have come to your blog because I was awarded a Roaring Lion and took it seriously enough to come have a peek at its origination.
Now I find why. You have captured the word talent and portray it in everything you do.
I loved this - the sound of the tinkling piano and the beautiful pictures made me yearn for another time.
Your story on the dresses took my breath away.
What a force you are in this world!
Just come across this:
http://blogtrotta.blogspot.com/- but don't think Shameless Cows would have quite the same ring to it somehow..!
(We had these in London a few years back).
Aims - Hello and welcome. Your kind words are really appreciated. I'm glad you like the stuff here. I look forward to checking out your site too. :-)
Julie - Yes, shameless cows! I like that! lol
That is so special. Beautiful music and pictures to go with it - I was transported for a few minutes there and grateful to you for that experience. You are talented for sure begorrah! (Loved the plaque about nothing happened here - priceless!)
CB - Thanks! :-) And yes, the "nothing happened" thing had me in stitches when I saw it in Ireland.
the music is great! played it pretty loud at work! and gr8 pictures! u shud come up with a complilation! :)
Puresunshine - Loud at work? You'll get me arrested for disruption! lol I'm glad you liked it.
Is there *anything* you can't do?!
You are a true Renaissance man, Seamus. And the music is so lovely and yearning that I can feel your love for Ireland in every note. And with the photos, too, there is such a pull.
Loved this. :)
So beautiful, as always, Seamus. This is in my top 5 favorites, and so is Venice, but nothing else you've done has quite been able to touch the Portugal compilation.
Please do a cd soon, so that I can listen to you play when I'm not at the computer.
Scarlett & Viaggiatore
Sarah - Thank you. Rennaisance man? I'm blushing. :-)
Wanderlust - Thanks for your kind words. Yes, Portugal has attracted close to 5,000 hits on Youtube now, and that can't just be family and friends! I've had a few requests for that music on CD ... maybe one day I might just make up a little compilation as a gift. :-)
